Back home. Armed with mad lewt. Including a brand spanking new copy of Dragon Age: Origins and LOST Season 5. Saw family. Saw friends. Had a good time.

Next week is new years, and that will prove to be quite fun as well.

Hope your Christmas was a Merry one!

    New Car Owner
After the death of the poor deer, and the death of poor Gwen, I am the proud new owner of a 2007 Toyota Yaris S. It's a pretty spiffy little guy, 24k miles on it - black - standard transmission.

I named him "Marty" after the nice salesman who sold him to me.

The clutch is going to take a LOT of getting used to, especially after driving Gwen for 5-6 years. Her clutch was completely different than this one. The gears work differently, too. The car complains quite a bit if you move into 5th too quickly.

I'm super excited that it has an auxillery port for my iPod! No more annoying white noise from the tape adapter! It also has a CD Mp3 player, which I'm not as stoked about, but whatever.

Fairly soon I'm going to see about possibly getting cruise control installed. I'm also going to get some synthetic oil put into him. Finally, I'm probably going to get a wax treatment.

Down the road, I was thinking I'd look into getting a cold air intake, performance clutch, a nice knob for the stick shift, some new knobs for some of the interior panels, some decent floor mats (actually, those will probably sooner rather than later.).

Hopefully I can remember to take care of this guy better than I did Gwen.

    Here's hopin'!

    RIP: Gwen Gallagher
You were a good car Gwen. I know we had our differences. But in the end, when we smashed into a deer (Kamikazee Sue) at 55mph, you did a good job protecting me and my friends. I'll miss your cute little turbo and your zippy speed. I'll miss your big trunk, in which I put my junk. I'll miss your very smooth stick shift. I'll even miss your somewhat annoying electrical problems.

You'll be replaced by a good, more reliable, perhaps more fuel efficient car...

    But you'll never be forgotten.
